Hospitalization and Visitation

Southeast Veterinary Specialists is open to patient visitors from Monday through Friday, from 10am until 6pm. Visitation is allowed at any time during these hours, however a specific time should be scheduled with our staff. Patient care and treatments take precedence over visitation. If a pet requires treatments during visitation times, the visitation may be interrupted. Visitation appointments should be limited to 30 minutes or less.

  • Families are sometimes taken into our ICU for visitation if the pet cannot be moved. Visitation in ICU should be limited to a maximum of fifteen minutes.

Visitation is not allowed on the day of surgery.

Visiting hours are over at 6pm due to a limited availability of technicians. Our hospital is open 24 hours daily, and our technicians are busy with hospitalized patients and emergency cases. We ask that visiting clients be understanding if our technicians are involved with more urgent cases.

Weekend visiting hours are by appointment only. Our weekend staff is responsible for treatments prescribed by the attending veterinarian. They should not be expected to answer specific questions regarding treatment and prognosis. If you have specific questions about your pet's treatment and response to therapy, those should be addressed by the attending veterinarian or their intern. The attending veterinarian is responsible for case management and treatment decisions through the weekend, even when they are not physically in the building.
